GoMcPherson is an initiative dedicated to promoting McPherson County, Kansas, as an attractive place to live, work, and visit. Serving as a comprehensive resource for the area, GoMcPherson highlights local industries, fosters community connections, and showcases the county’s amenities to draw in new residents and professionals. Partnering with BowerComm, GoMcPherson has elevated its marketing strategy to reach targeted audiences and engage the community in meaningful ways that support the county’s growth and economic development.
THE CHALLENGE
Shifting board perceptions of what strategic marketing communications could achieve for the county.
Filling local jobs and converting McPherson’s unique assets—like low power rates—into compelling reasons for people to live and work in the community.
Attracting targeted audiences, such as young professionals, “boomerang” residents returning to McPherson, and recent graduates from institutions like Kansas State University.
OUR APPROACH
Targeted high-potential audiences across the Midwest, high-cost-of-living metros, and rural Kansas with custom messages to drive consideration for moving to McPherson.
Created audience-specific content focused on career opportunities, local businesses, and lifestyle highlights tailored to each target group
Developed the McPherson County Living Guide as a free, comprehensive resource for new and prospective residents. The guide provides essential information about McPherson County’s lifestyle, amenities, and services.
Organized a large-scale virtual jobs day, which attracted over 500 registrants, showcasing McPherson’s job market to a broader audience.
THE OUTCOME
Increased audience engagement with content specifically highlighting available jobs, businesses, and lifestyle perks in McPherson County. This approach provided potential residents with tangible reasons to explore the community further.
Collected 5,000+ email signups for the Living Guide, expanding GoMcPherson’s reach to potential newcomers.
Generated 10,000,000 ad impressions and brought in 250,000+ website visits since program inception, demonstrating the campaign’s effectiveness in raising awareness and driving interest in McPherson.
